In contrast, Rana Plus is the facelifted and Iranized version of Peugeot 206 with a box. Rana was initially produced with a simple model from 1991 to a few years ago, but Iran Khodro produced an updated version with the addition of Plus with minor changes. In the engine department, Pars has improved fuel consumption and emissions with the XU7P engine, but it produces less power and torque than the old XU7 engine. This engine has a power of 97 horsepower and a torque of 146 newton meters (the old XU7 engine produces 100 horsepower and a torque of 153 newton meters), which this power and torque is created thanks to making changes in some parts such as the mill valve, cylinder head, etc. According to Iran Khodro, the engine speed has been reduced in the final gear in order to reduce engine noise and consumption. Also, the most important problems of the old XU7 engine, i.e. gasketing in the XU7P engine, have been fixed. In contrast, Rana Plus is equipped with the same famous TU5 engine. This popular 1.6-liter engine has 105 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque. In terms of fuel consumption, the tu5 consumes less gasoline than the XU7P engine and produces less noise.
