Kia has set a new standard for luxury family SUVs with the introduction of the all-new 2027 Kia Telluride. The vehicle not only has a significant upgrade in appearance and design, but also has significant improvements in terms of amenities and assistive technologies.
The previous-generation Telluride has been one of the most popular family SUVs in the US market since 2019, and now with the new generation, Kia is looking to solidify its position among large SUVs.
Exterior design: bold, dignified and modern
The 2027 Telluride is a completely different beast from its predecessor. A larger, more vertical grille, vertical LED headlights, and a sharply contoured bumper give it a powerful, luxurious look.
The car is now over 5 meters long and has a wheelbase of about 2.9 meters, which means more interior space for passengers.
From the side, the body-level grab handles, prominent fenders, and a floating roof design are inspired by flagship European SUVs like the Range Rover.
At the rear, the vertical taillights and a shiny chrome strip between them convey a sense of modernity and stability.

Cabin: Technology and luxury at a new level
The interior of the Telluride 2027 is as luxurious as the exterior. A minimalist dashboard with two connected 12.3-inch displays (one for the steering wheel and the other for the multimedia system) is designed in the style of premium cars.
Interior materials include two-tone leather, real wood trim and brushed metal accents. In higher versions such as the X-Pro or SX-Prestige, the seats are heated, ventilated, massaged and electrically adjustable.
The second row can be slid, making it easier to access the third row; the third-row seats now offer more legroom.
Other notable features of the cabin include a powerful Harman Kardon sound system, adjustable ambient lighting, a panoramic roof and three-zone climate control.

Engine and performance
While Kia hasn’t released all the technical details yet, it’s expected that the current-generation 3.8-liter V6 will remain, along with a new turbocharged hybrid option.
All-wheel drive models and the X-Pro off-road version will come with tougher tires, higher ground clearance, and off-road driving modes.
The hybrid version could produce between 320 and 330 horsepower, while getting up to 20 percent less fuel than the current model, according to Car & Driver.
Technologies and safety
The 2027 Telluride comes standard with Kia’s next-generation Drive Wise technologies.
The suite includes:
Adaptive Cruise Control
Lane Keeping Assist
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection
4K 360-degree Surround Camera
And even Remote Parking Assist
Higher trims get Level 2+ Semi-Autonomous Driving Assist, which allows for autonomous driving on highways.
Release date and possible price
According to the official announcement from Kia Media, production of the new generation Telluride will begin in early 2026 and will enter the US market in the fall of 2026 as a 2027 model. The base version is expected to cost around $40,000 and the fully optioned version will cost over $55,000.
