Ferrari has taken a new step in the evolution of its grand tourers with the introduction of the Amalfi in 2026. The successor to the Roma, this car not only has a more modern design, but also provides a high-level experience for the driver and passengers with fundamental changes to the cabin, engine and driving systems.
Engine: Familiar but upgraded
The Ferrari Amalfi still uses a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8, but with updates that include a new ECU, faster turbochargers, and changes to the engine’s internals, its power has been increased to 631 horsepower, 20 more than the Roma.
This increase in power has brought the car’s 0-60 time to around 3.3 seconds. In addition, the engine’s response to the accelerator pedal has also been significantly improved, providing a more dynamic driving experience.
Exterior design: a combination of simplicity and aggression
In terms of design, the Amalfi follows a more modern language. Narrower headlights, a simpler grille and more elongated body lines give the car a clean yet muscular look.
At the rear, new lights and an active rear spoiler play a significant role in improving aerodynamics, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing. The new design is clearly inspired by other recent Ferrari models such as the SF90 and 12Cilindri.
Cabin: Refocusing on the user
One of the Amalfi’s strengths is the complete redesign of the interior. Ferrari has removed many of the touch buttons and brought back physical controls, responding to customer feedback. The starter button is now metallic and mechanical, and the steering wheel design has been redesigned to be more user-friendly.
The displays in the Amalfi have been updated: a digital display for the driver, a horizontal central display for the entertainment system, and a separate display for the front passenger. There’s also a small display for rear passengers, creating a modern and well-equipped space.
Driving technology and safety
The Amalfi is equipped with the latest generation of Ferrari stability control systems, including the advanced Side Slip Control 6.1 system, which offers more precise performance in skid control and handling.
The brakes are also by-wire and equipped with Intelligent Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Drowsiness Detection Radar. The rear spoiler is also intelligently adjusted in three different positions to maintain a balance between stability and aerodynamics.
Driving experience: the comfort of a GT, the excitement of a sports car
The Amalfi is as agile and dynamic on twisty roads as it is on long road trips. Precise steering, quick engine response, and excellent body balance make the driver feel in complete control at all times.
Meanwhile, the high-quality interior materials, comfortable seats, Burmester professional audio system, and ambient lighting make this an attractive choice for everyday driving and luxury travel.
Market position and potential price
Given the current price of the Ferrari Roma (around $240,000), the Amalfi is expected to be available with a price tag between $275,000 and $300,000. It competes directly with rivals like the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Aston Martin DB12 and Bentley Continental GT, but its more advanced technical features, modern design and Ferrari brand identity make it a distinct option in this class.
